Here is the thing that goes into our compost – anything which would ordinarily be tossed down the waste disposal, all vegetable and fruit peelings, cores, pips and seeds, a specific measure of newspaper (not all that much), grass (not all that much, this can make the compost arrive at high temperatures) and plant cuttings, small weeds, autumn leaves, the cores of rolls of paper towels and can tissue rolls, used paper towels and paper napkins, tea and tea bags, espresso beans, eggshells, unbleached or printed cardboard containers, ash and charcoal waste from the wood BBQ, paper plates, hound crap. Fish skins, bones and heads might be used, as well as a bit of waste meat product or bone feast, but I don’t put these in my compost store as it is close to the house, and this does pull in flies or greater pests. Composting is the most obvious way to reuse most natural waste and your garden will thank you for it. Presently help yourself out and go to the gardening store or nursery and value a sack of natural compost!
